Karen’s educational background includes a pre-med degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Florida. She was fortunate enough to be trained and taught by Dr. Daniel Kalish, who is a top-rated functional medicine expert. Karen got her certification from the Kalish Method of Functional Medicine after completing her training. Aside from this, she has certifications from different organizations including Holistic Nutrition and Lifestyle certification Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology (C.H.E.K.) Institute and Advanced Metabolic Typing Advisor.
Karen’s love for nutrition started when she was just a teenager, about the age of 14. At this time, she decided to become a vegetarian, a move that she would later regret. As a vegetarian, she ate a lot of processed food, which her body rejected. In just a short time, she withered away from a healthy teenager to a malnourished young woman. Some of the problems she experienced at this point are leaky gut, chronic fatigue, and a variety of other digestive problems. In order to get back to the healthy young girl she was once, Karen had to do her own research and study more about nutrition. Eventually, she found herself more and more interested in the subject.
When she finally found cures for her digestive disorders, she applied them right away, and was able to regain the health she lost because of playing with her diet. She was able to give birth to a healthy baby boy, TJ, after a healthy, happy, and safe pregnancy.
